Travel Doodler

Whenever I travel on any trip of more than a couple days, I like to make elaborate spiral bound guides to the city I’m visiting. This project draws on those DIY guides to create an interactive city guide that encourages its users to see new sites or experience old ones in new ways. The book is pocket sized so it can be carried around and completed while adventuring around the city. Each page features an activity to be experienced and documented in a unique way that provides a one-of-a-kind memento of the trip.

This guide evolved from an idea to competitive research and mood boards to a full style guide to a fully written and illustrated book. The branding and design of the book are heavy on illustrated elements to encourage users to really participate in the activities without fear of getting the book dirty or making a mistake in their documentation. This kind of multi-faceted project is exactly the kind I prefer to work on.
